What's CDIS:
The Certified Dyslexia IEP Specialist (CDIS) is a 10-week, live, competency-based program that prepares educators, advocates, committed parents, and specialists to confidently navigate the special education process for students with dyslexia.
Through weekly instruction, implementation coaching, and weekly activities that help you apply what you’ve learned to real students, participants learn how to interpret relevant data, determine eligibility, develop legally compliant IEPs, write measurable goals, recommend appropriate services and accommodations, and monitor student progress.
Rather than simply completing coursework, participants demonstrate competency by applying what they learn to a realistic dyslexia case and earning certification through a performance -based assessment.
Why this Certification Matters:
People who support students with dyslexia often bring valuable experience, insight, and a strong commitment to helping each child succeed. The Certified Dyslexia IEP Specialist program builds on that foundation by helping participants connect their knowledge of dyslexia with the legal, educational, and data-based decision-making required to develop an effective IEP.
The CDIS certification bridges the gap between research, educational law, and real-world implementation. You'll learn how to connect evaluation data to educational decisions, advocate with confidence, and create IEPs that provide meaningful support.
Whether you're supporting students as an educator, advocate, tutor, related service provider, or are a committed parent who wants to advocate more effectively for your child, this certification gives you a practical framework you can immediately apply to improve outcomes for students with dyslexia.
