What is CDIS?
The Certified Dyslexia IEP Specialist (CDIS) is a 10-week, competency-based program that teaches our Signature Framework for navigating the special education process for students with dyslexia.
Through weekly instruction, implementation coaching, and practical application, participants learn how to interpret data, determine eligibility, develop effective IEPs, write measurable goals, recommend appropriate services and accommodations, and monitor progress.
Rather than simply completing coursework, participants demonstrate competency by applying what they learn to a realistic dyslexia case and earning certification through a performance-based assessment.
Why this training matters
Knowing about dyslexia is only part of the equation. Supporting a student effectively also requires knowing how to use the information and navigate special education to make better decisions.
CDIS helps bridge that gap. You’ll learn how to recognize when an IEP does not reflect the student’s actual needs, identify what is missing, and determine what should change.
The result is a more informed, strategic approach, using our signature framework, to advocate for IEPs that are individualized, meaningful, and designed to help students with dyslexia make real progress.
