Are You Ready to Turn Things Around for Your Child?
Together we will advocate for your child to ensure that they CAN reach their full potential.
How Lorraine's Advocacy Services Can Get You There
It all comes down to understanding your child’s unique learning differences, the school’s approach, state and federal special education regulations, as well as utilizing your parental instincts.
Lorraine recognizes that a positive outcome greatly depends on your family having a collaborative and productive relationship with school district staff. You’re in this relationship for the long haul. That’s why she stresses working in partnership with your child’s school team throughout the Special Education Process. She works together with all stakeholders to bring about the best outcome for your child.
This comprehensive consultation is for parents who have the time and interest to navigate the special education process on their own but still want expert guidance so they feel confident and prepared.
This service is for parents who don’t have the time or inclination to go it alone. You will receive hands-on advocacy support involving in-person representation at your child’s school meetings, plus access to Lorraine for all issues that arise along the way.

Lorraine helped our family at a time when we did not have much hope. She was able to work with us and get our son everything he needed at school, which the school system had not been giving him. We finally feel that there is hope for him.
I’m so grateful I found Lorraine Hightower to help my daughter receive appropriate accommodations and evidence based instruction. I feel it was divine intervention that I found Lorraine as she is the answer to my prayers.
I felt discouraged and stuck until Lorraine stepped in the picture. She helped to break down walls and bring true hope to my daughter’s educational situation. Before Lorraine, I hit a brick wall and the school would not listen to me or my daughter’s needs.
My daughter was many years behind in reading and Lorraine went the extra mile to ensure the school listened and took appropriate action to help my daughter. Hiring Lorraine to be my educational advocate was the best thing I could have done to help my daughter succeed in school and in life. She is truly skilled and has the best tactics to help achieve real results. I thank God every day for Lorraine. She saved my daughter’s education and I will be forever grateful for her support in a very difficult situation.
I tell other parents that you are an invaluable asset in understanding the process, the parent's/child's rights and options, the resources available, historical context, and interpretation of the education lingo. Some have said to me that they can't afford an advocate... After having gone through the process with and without you, I tell them they can't afford NOT to have Lorraine!
You were awesome yesterday (at my son’s IEP meeting)! I feel so blessed and relieved we have you…. you are making such a difference in the lives of students and I would be lost without you. I feel like we are getting things done!!!
She truly embodies what Virginia Parent Teachers Association (PTA) seeks every day in schools around the Commonwealth - every child, one voice.
Lorraine creates a positive impact from a child’s individual education plan (IEP) level to institutional systemic change. She is thoughtful and savvy about building relationships and working collaboratively towards a mission.
Her passion for special education shines clearly, and she has the intelligence, people skills, and work ethic [that make her] a successful advocate.
Lorraine has demonstrated great strengths in building relationships, facilitating discussion and working toward consensus in a very collaborative manner. It is a significant advantage for us to have the dedication and passion she brings to her work advocating for students and families.
Our Superstar Educational Consultant and Advocate. What more can be said that hasn't already been said? What other words can be used to describe you? Astounding? Dazzling? You were all of that and more today. You were very impressive! Thank you very much. Perhaps, we can sit out the next IEP Meeting and let you go back to handle it on your own? I think back to our first conversation ... and knew right then and there that you were the one.
On a scale of one to 10, I would give you an 11. I would absolutely recommend you to other parents.
Seeking Lorraine’s services will drastically cut your stress level and equip you with insights, confidence and the knowledge you will need as a parent moving forward within your child's school district's special education system.
I can't recommend her enough to anyone who suspects a learning disability in their child. It is worth every penny and will save you and your family so much heartache and anxiety and it will gain your child precious time.
