Let's Make a Plan

You or your child’s teacher suspect your child may have a learning disability. Or maybe you have a
dyslexia diagnosis in hand. How can you help your child?


This Program is for you if you have the time and interest to navigate the special education process on
your own and yet want guidance for a trained special education advocate.

Service Engagement

Through private consultations we will work together to develop a customized Special Education Advocacy Plan that’s best for your child. You will be informed of your rights as a parent and coached on advocacy tactics so you will be confident in supporting your child. You will be given behind-the-scenes guidance from Lorraine who has extensive training, experience and expertise in dyslexia and the special education process.

Results

You will be clear on all the steps in the special education process so you always know what to expect and what to do. 

You will understand the options available so you can obtain the special education supports and services that are best for your child. 

You will be a strong advocate for your child’s success.

You Will Receive
  • A comprehensive review of your child's educational profile to include county and/or private testing, teacher assessments, progress reports, provided work samples, IEP and 504 Plans already in place, and school correspondence  

  • A deep dive parent interview to discuss achievement goals, your child's strengths, and concerns about their  current school performance, and to explore desired outcomes

  • An outlined Advocacy Plan Roadmap with recommended action steps

  • An in-depth strategy session to discuss special education regulations, your rights as a parent/guardian of a child with a disability, areas of potential conflict, and advocacy techniques for how to best meet your child's unique needs at their Child Study, Eligibility, or IEP meeting

  • Customized special education resources to support your child's unique needs

  • Information on all dispute resolution options so you are empowered with a "Plan B"

  • Templates with guidelines for school correspondence 

  • Answers to all of your questions
